Frida Kahlo, Me and My Parrots
The image shows Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait called “Me and My Parrots” (1941)
After her second marriage to Diego Rivera in December 1940, Frida’s life settled into a somewhat calmer routine than her previous life.
Although they were married, they led separate lives. It was the ordinary things in life: animals, children, flowers, and the countryside that interested Frida the most. This is one of the many self-portraits in which Frida included her parrots.
