Self-Portrait Very Ugly, 1933 Frida Kahlo

Self-Portrait Very Ugly 1933 Frida Kahlo

This painting by the artist Frida Kahlo was created thanks to her husband Diego Rivera, as he encouraged her to paint al fresco, a technique that Frida did not usually paint with. This work called, “Self-portrait, very ugly”, was the result. Frida did not like her work very much so she threw it away. The story does not end there, since a friend of Frida’s named Lucienne Bloch, went to visit her and found the work al fresco in the trash. Not content with seeing her in the bucket, she decided to rescue her and take her home.
